Saturday Meeting Details:
Place: Colour Youth (Sachtouri 3, Psirri)
Time: 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Colour Youth is preparing something big for the Intersex awareness and education theme circle that will start next Saturday, on the 11th of February! Stay tuned for announcements!

Till then, let's have an artistic break, and talk a bit about slam poetry!

What is Slam Poerty?

It is a mixture of reciting and drama, a form of performance during which people come up on the stage and present a piece of poetry they have written themselves. The most important aspects of it are that the events usually take the form of contests, and that the pieces talk about lived experiences, refer to an obstacle, challenge, or oppression the person has been through, and have the purpose to shake the waters, to sensibilize and provoke intense feelings. Slam Poetry has been often used as a tool of political and social change.

These and more that have to do with the nature and history of slam poetry will be discussed. LGBT Slam Poetry videos will be projected, and will be followed by conversation.

After the event, a list of the projected videos will be uploaded. If you have a favorite slam poem, and wish to have it projected and discussed, post it on the event page before the event takes place.

And don't forget! Stay tuned for announcements
